Is UPI QR Code Safe?

Fixed Amount vs Open Amount UPI QR
- Fixed Amount QR — Enter the amount (e.g. ₹500). When scanned, payment app shows ₹500 pre-filled. Good for specific products, fees, or rent collection.
- Open Amount QR — Leave amount empty. Customer enters any amount. Good for general shop payments and tips.

What is a UPI ID (VPA)?
UPI ID (Virtual Payment Address) is a unique identifier linked to your bank account. Format is usually name@bankcode. Examples: raj@okicici, shop@ybl, user@paytm, merchant@okhdfcbank. You can find yours in any UPI app.
Will the QR work with Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm?
Yes. The UPI QR code uses the standard upi://pay protocol which is supported by all UPI apps including Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay, and all bank UPI apps.
Can I set a fixed payment amount?
Yes. Enter the amount in the "Amount ₹" field. When a customer scans the QR, the payment app will show that amount pre-filled. Leave empty to let the customer enter any amount.
Is it safe to display this QR code publicly?
Yes, completely safe. UPI QR codes can only be used to send money TO you — nobody can take money FROM your account using the QR code. It's just your UPI address encoded.
Does it work without internet when printed?
The QR code itself works offline (it's just printed). The customer's phone needs internet to complete the UPI payment. The QR code generation happens entirely in your browser — no data sent to servers.
Can I print it for my shop?
Yes! Download in PNG (1024px or 2048px) for good print quality, or SVG for any size. Recommended minimum print size: 6cm × 6cm for shop display. Test scan before printing in bulk.
